Franklin Brown

ROCKY MOUNT n Franklin Delano Roosevelt Brown, 74, died May 29, 2008.

A visitation will be conducted from 10-12 noon Friday at H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. at St. John Cemetery, Red Oak.

Starr Barnes

ROCKY MOUNT n Starr Barnes, 58, died May 30, 2008.

H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge.

Ollie T. Eure

SEABOARD n Ollie Taylor Eure, 94, a native of Northampton County, died June 2, 2008, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.

Mrs. Eure she was a life long member of Galatia Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelby Taylor Britton; a son, W.N. Taylor, Jr.

of Seaboard; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and three brothers, Marion Davis and Elliott Davis, both of Seaboard and Joseph Davis of Wilmington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Galatia Baptist Church by the Rev. David Foster.

Burial will be in the family cemetery in Faison’s Old Tavern. Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc., Conway, is in charge.

Jessie L. William

BATTLEBORO n Jessie Lee William, 55, died June 2, 2008.

A visitation will be conducted from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at H.D. Pope Funeral Home Chapel, Rocky Mount. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Light of Peace by the Rev. Braswell. Interment will be in Red Hill Cemetery.

Ethel McNair

PLYMOUTH- Ethel Lee Belcher McNair, 88, died June 2, 2008 at the Washington County Hospital.

A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at the Lily of the Valley Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will be at the G. W. Memorial Gardens, Plymouth. There will be a visitation from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the Lily of the Valley. Gilliam Funeral Home is in charge.

Purnell Robinson

SUFFERN N.Y.- Purnell J. Robinson, 57, formerly of Halifax, died on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

A visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home.

A funeral will be conducted by the Rev. John Barham immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at the Allen Grove Church Cemetery in Halifax.
