WINTON – Another license checking station netted another drug arrest.
Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan said his officers arrested a Winfall (Perquimans County) man during a license check on U.S. 13 last Wednesday.
Willie Herman Sellers, 30, of Catherine Street was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a place to keep a controlled substance.
Sellers allegedly had 197 grams of marijuana in his possession, the street value of which is approximately $1,200.
Sgt. Johnny Joyner arrested Sellers and placed him in the Hertford County Jail where he was under a $50,000 secured bond.
“I want to commend my officers for their continuous efforts to slow down the sale of drugs in Hertford County,” Vaughan said. “We will continue to do these license checks in an effort to keep drugs off the street and our citizens safe.”
In addition to Joyner, Hertford County Captain Marty Davis, Lt. Will Liverman and Deputies Tom Helms and William Stroud assisted in the arrest.
