PLEASANT HILL – The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with an arson here.

Northampton County Sheriff Wardie Vincent said on Wednesday that Corey Jacluto Graham, 20, of 100 Martin Circle in Roanoke Rapids was taken in custody and charged with first degree arson.

The charge stems from an arson that occurred at a residence on January 22 in the Pleasant Hill area.

In that incident, Graham allegedly drove up to a mobile home and threw a gas bomb or a Molotov cocktail through a window.

Vincent said a middle-aged female home owner was at the residence at the time of the incident and was able to escape unharmed. Her home, however, was completely destroyed.

Vincent said Graham allegedly had a grievance with the victim’s son.

Graham was taken to the Northampton County Jail and placed on a $25,000 bond. His first appearance in court is today (Thursday).
