ACS tops Ruth#8217;s Chapel

Ahoskie Christian School swept Ruth’s Chapel in their season-opener.

The varsity boy’s basketball team defeated Ruth’s Chapel 63-49 last week to earn their first victory of the season.

Tripp Plaunty led the team with 17 points for the evening while Omari Mitchell and Dorian Freeman had 15 points each.

In the varsity girl’s contest, ACS took a 25-15 victory.

The Warriors were led by 10 Sarah Calderado, who recorded a double-double. She had 10 points and 15 rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals.

The Warriors, however, came up short on Friday when they traveled to Calvary Baptist as they fell 63-36.

Plaunty was again the leading scorer, chipping in 10 points. Mitchell had eight for Ahoskie as did Jalen Cooley.

ACS (1-1) will next travel to Emanuel on Tuesday, November 27.
