Juanita P. Elliott
CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Juanita Perry Elliott, 79, a native of North Carolina, died September 18, 2007. She was the widow of William Edward Elliott.
Survivors include a daughter, Dianne M. Elliott Ingles of Waynesboro, Va.; two sons, Charles Steven Elliott of Ashburn, Va., and Melvin Edward Elliott of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Ann Perry of Ahoskie.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Cemetery, Bedford, by Pastor David A. Whitehurst. Condolences may be made at www.lovingfuneralhome.com.
Laura F. Bond
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Laura Frances Bond, 89, died September 16, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cedar Landing Missionary Baptist Church, Windsor. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel, is in charge.
John Sims
MURFREESBORO – John Sims, 67, a native of Indianapolis, IN, died September 18, 2007 at his residence.
Sims was pastor of Harvest Temple Church in Aulander and he also worked in masonry.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Sims of the home; nine sons, Johnathan, Harvey, Jerry and Jessie Sims, all of Indianapolis, IN and Andrew Sims of San Diego, CA, Malachi Vaughan Jr. of Hampton, VA, Ricky Vaughan of Rocky Mount, Rudy Vaughan of Spruce Pines, MD and Tony Vaughan of Windsor;
four daughters, Christina Smith of Greenville, Selena Carter and Pat Taylor, both of Murfreesboro and Julie Everett of Franklin; five brothers, James Sims of Miami, FL, William Sims of Hestera, CA, Raymond Sims of Carson, CA, Charles Sims of Columbus, IN and David Sims of Terre Haute, IN;
seven sisters, Rose Dunson of North Cernon, IN, Eva Tipton of Columbus, IN, Marylin Curry of Phoenix, AZ, Ruth Lewis of Terre Haute, IN, Betty Muldrew of Portland, OR, Shirley Davis of Richmond, OH and Marguerite Washington of Gary, IN;
16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon
Friday at First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, by Rev. Robert Richardson, III.
Burial will be in Carver Park Cemetery, Murfreesboro.

Norfleet Beale
BRONX, NY – Norfleet Beale, 78, a native of Hertford County, died September 17, 2007 at Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx.
Survivors include two brothers, David Beale Jr. and Joe Beale, both of Murfreesboro; and five sisters, Olivia B. Hinton, Carrie Vaughan, Janet Hall and Sylvia Brooks, all of Murfreesboro, and Mary Ann Beale of Washington, DC.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Temple Deliverance Church, Murfreesboro, by Overseer Dorothy Ruffin.
Burial will be in Carver Park Cemetery, Murfreesboro.

Samuel Riddick Jr.
LONG ISLAND, NY n Samuel Riddick Jr., 70, a native of Hertford County, died September 18, 2007 at Merry Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Murfreesboro. Burial will be in the Robert Gatling family cemetery, Mapleton.
Survivors include one son, the Rev. Frederick Foy of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters, Lucradia Riddick and Jean Riddick, both of New York, NY and Mary Evelyn Riddick of Murfreesboro; and four grandchildren.
Virginia C. Lane
MILWAUKEE – Miss Virginia Carolyn Lane, 65, died September 20, 2007 at the Lenoir Medical Center.
Miss. Lane formerly of Milwaukee has been living at the Caswell Center in Kinston all of her adult life.
She is survived by a brother, Donnie Lane of Woodland.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square by the Rev. Allen Hamm. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Sykes Funeral Service of Rich Square is in charge.
