AHOSKIE – The plan is in place for a festive July 4th celebration in Ahoskie.

As is tradition, all festivities will be held on the grounds of Hertford County High School.

Beginning at 4 p.m. on July 4, the Ahoskie Jaycees and Ahoskie Junior Woman’s Club along with Classic Rentals will offer children’s activities, such as such as moonwalks, rock climbs and speed pitch. There will be a charge for these associated activities.

Additionally, hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, French fries, soft drinks and water will be offered for sale.

To keep the crowd entertained prior to the fireworks, a DJ will play a variety of music.

The evening will be capped off by “the rockets red glare” as a festive display of colorful fireworks will fill the night sky beginning at around 9:20 p.m.
