RICH SQUARE – A year-long drug investigation has netted the arrest of two Rich Square men.
Rich Square Police Chief Bo Roye reported that Ahmad Debreaux, 18, of Lincoln Park and 25-year-old Tommy Lamont Robinson of Roberts Road were charged Friday following an undercover drug operation.
Roye said the operation included the Rich Square Police Department, the Roanoke Rapids Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Both men were charged with felonious sell and delivery of crack cocaine as well as conspiracy to sell and deliver crack cocaine. Their bond was set at $10,000 each.
Roye said Robinson was already incarcerated in the Northampton County Jail when the arrest warrant was served. He, according to Chief Roye, was in jail on another drug charge from a different law enforcement agency.
Debreaux was arrested at his residence.
Roye said the arrests stemmed from an undercover officer being able to make purchases of crack cocaine. He added that additional arrests are pending from this undercover operation.
“I would like to thank the cooperation we experienced with the Roanoke Rapids Police and the SBI,” Roye said. “Without their help, these two men would still be spreading their poison on our streets.”
