WOODLAND – The tradition continues.

The Woodland Men’s Club, assisted by the Ladies Auxiliary, will sponsor the 45th Annual Horse and Pony Show at the Billy Jenkins Ring on Sunday, April 22. The event gets underway at 12:30 p.m.

Participants from up and down the East Coast will vie for awards in 40 classes.

Class one is always a favorite in the show as children, 6 years old and under, dressed up or down as they please, stampede into the ring on their stick horses ready to &uot;show&uot; for the judge hoping to carry home a blue ribbon.

The Trail Class Open was introduced last year and was well received, so will be included again this year as Class 22.

It will be open to riders of any age and horses of any breed, English or Western.

General admission to the show is $1.

Enjoy dinner on the grounds, choosing from homemade desserts, hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks, barbecue sandwiches and barbecue plates.

Bring lawn chairs or spread a blanket/quilt for your family as you enjoy a great afternoon of equine entertainment, fellowship and good food among neighbors and friends.

The Billy Jenkins Ring is located just off US 258 south of Woodland. Look for the signs.
