AHOSKIE – Ridgecroft School remained perfect early.
The Lady Rams’ soccer team rolled to a 6-0 non-conference victory over Hobgood Academy Tuesday afternoon at home.
The win moved the Rams to 2-0 heading into this weekend’s contests.
Again, it was junior Hayes Bryant who led the way for the Lady Rams as she found the net three times, including once on a penalty kick in the second half. She also added one assist on the afternoon.
Bardin Murray contributed her third goal of the season while also adding a pair of assists. Jo Revelle Murray and Kristen Cayton added one goal each in the victory.
“Overall, I was relatively pleased,” Head Coach Aaron Martin said. “We looked pretty sharp with our combinations in the first half.
“We still are not where we want to be as far as time of possession and getting back on defense,” he added. “We are continuing to work hard and continuing to get better.”
The Rams were scheduled to play in their own invitational tournament on Friday and Saturday, but plans for the event have been put on hold due to a pair of teams dropping out of the event.
