AHOSKIE – Sign ups for the 2007 Ahoskie Recreation Department Baseball and Softball season will begin March 1 and will end on March 31.

The baseball leagues will play in full compliance with the Tar-Heel League, Inc. rules. 

The age divisions for the 2007 season will be:

* Tee-Ball for five and six year olds;

Coach-Pitch for seven and eight year olds;

*

nine and 10 year olds will play Midget League, eleven;

*

12-year-olds will play Little League; and

*

13 through 15 year olds will play Junior League. 

Midget league will use the pitching machine once a week during the game season.

There will be two divisions for girl’s softball.  Girls ages nine to 11 will play Junior Softball while ages 12 to 14 will play Senior Softball. 

All ages are “league ages” which means that age attained prior to May 1 of the season.  For example, a player who is 10 years old, but turns 11 years old on or before April 30th, will have a “league age” of 11. 

There will be no uniform rentals.  The cost of a hat and jersey will be $15.  This will become the property of the player. 

Registration will remain $15 for in-town residents and $25 for outside of town residents. 

The total costs will be $30 for in town residents or $40 for outside of town residents.

Baseball pants are required for coach pitch through junior league and may be purchased separately.
