Search the attic.
Look under the bed.
Probe deep within the dark confines of the closet.
You know those old photographs are somewhere within your house.
Upon discovery, the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald is asking that you share those treasures with our readers.
The 2007 Crossroads special edition is just a few weeks away from making its annual appearance inside the pages of the News-Herald. The 2006 edition captured first place honors in the Special Section category of the North Carolina Press Association’s annual News, Editorial and Photojournalism Contest.
We want you, our readers and loyal supporters, to be a special part of our award-winning Crossroads edition. The 2007 edition is scheduled to be inserted on each Saturday in February (3, 10, 17, 24).
This year, we are dedicating one section entitled “Treasures.” It will be a collection of old photographs contributed by members of the communities we serve in Bertie, Gates, Hertford and Northampton counties.
We’re asking you to search high and low for your old photos….the ones of your family on vacation, the old home place, ancestors, old buildings, kids at play, working on the farm or any other job, R-C area scenic shots or just candid photographs. The list could go on and on.
Please submit your photos (black & white or color; no framed photos) and any accompanying information between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the main office of the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, located at the intersection of Main Street and Catherine Creek Road in downtown Ahoskie. Other hours and weekends appointments are available by calling Cal Bryant at 332-7207.
We will immediately scan the photo(s) and return to your care.
