Willie M. Freeman

NORFOLK, Va. – Willie Monroe &uot;Willie Boe&uot; Freeman, 58, a native of Ahoskie, died Dec. 7, 2006, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Freeman was employed by Best Value Inn where he worked in maintenance.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Freeman; one daughter, Telisa &uot;TuTu&uot; Flachbart; two sons, William Flachbart and Kenneth Diggs, all of Norfolk; three brothers, Bobby Freeman, Randy Veale and Larry Veale, all of Norfolk; and 12 grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Newport News. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.

Ala Y. Jones

CONCORD n Ala Yvette Jones, 35, died December 1, 2006 at North East Medical Center.

A funeral was conducted Wednesday, December 6, 2006 in Rose Hill Baptist Church, Kannapolis. Lamb Funeral Home, Concord, was in charge.

Miss Jones was a graduate of Gates County High School, Gatesville and Shaw University, Raleigh. She was a manager at K-Mart for 10 years.

Survivors include a son, Kedrick Semaj Bingley-Jones; a daughter, Tanisha Bingley; her mother, Theresa Harrell Hayer; five sisters, Barbara A. Jones of Richmond, Va., Linda Hayer of Virginia Beach, Joan Hayer of Durham, Barbara J. Hayer of Elliott City, Md., and Elizabeth Hayer of Elizabeth City; three brothers, Van Harrell of Norfolk, Nathaniel Ralph and Alton Ralph, both of Belvidere; and her grandmother, Inez Jumper of Miami, Fla.

Carolyn L. Mitchell

AHOSKIE n Carolyn Lee Mitchell, died December 11, 2006 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at New Ahoskie Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Ahoskie. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of New Ahoskie Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Wayland Mitchell Sr. of Ahoskie; one sons, Wayland Mitchell Jr. of Elizabeth City; one daughter, Marva T. Woodard of Greensboro; two sisters, Doris Foggie of Springfield, Md., and Bobby Jean Riddick of Ahoskie; and six grandchildren.

Alice Kingery

AULANDER n Alice Lou Mullins Kingery, 70, a native of Logan West, Va., died December 11, 2006 at Bertie Memorial Hospital.

A funeral will be conducted at Saturday, December 16 in Palm Bay, FL with burial in Fountain Head Memorial Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to either Relay for Life or the Askewville Fire Department. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Kingery attended Connarista Baptist Church and was the retired CFO of Palm Bay Insulation.

Survivors include her husband, Sidney Everett Kingery of Aulander; a daughter, Connie Kingery of Orlanda, Fla.; a son, Michael Kingery of Melburne; a sister, Patricia Withers of Morristown, TN; a brother, Maxwell Mullins of SC; and two grandchildren.

Annie Vaughan

TEMPLE HILL, MD n Annie Vaughan, 62, a native of Hertford County, died December 10, 2006 at Southern Maryland Hospital.

Survivor include three uncles.

A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Friday at Parkers Grove Baptist Church, Mapleton, by the Rev. Dr. William B. Stroman Sr. Burial will be in the Britt family cemetery in Murfreesboro. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge.

Charlie Parker Jr.

SUNBURY n Charlie Clinton Parker Jr., 53, died December 10, 2006 at Down East Nursing Home, Gates.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stallings Funeral Home Chapel, Gatesville. Burial will be in the Nowell family cemetery, Sunbury. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from

6-8 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends at the home of Alton and Margaret Bryant at 117 Gatling Road, Sunbury.

Survivors include one sister, Patricia Parker of Gatesville; and two brothers, Thomas Parker and Cecil Parker, both of Gatesville.

Travis Mabine

COLERAIN n Travis L. “Tre’Love” Mabine, 26, a native of Hertford County, died December 9, 2006 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at City of Praise, Powellsville, by Dr. Walter Boston Jr. Burial will be in the Saulsbury family cemetery, Hexalena. Wilder’s Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.

Mabine was a chicken catcher for Perdue Farms. He was a member of City of Praise Powellsville.

Survivors include daughters, Ty’mish Mabine of Lewiston, Ty’Asia Mabine and Ty’Quasha Beacher, both of Ahoskie and Ta’Mya Mabine of Windsor; a son, Travis Mabine Jr. of Lewiston; his mother and stepfather, Marion Wiggins Swain and Jerry Swain of Colerain; his father and stepmother, Willie Sr. and Rayelyn Mabine of Philadelphia, Pa.; brothers, Willie Jr. and Tony Mabine, both of Ahoskie, Jerry Mabine of Colerain and Dewayne Mabine of Philadelphia; sisters, Tamika Harrell of Colerain; his grandparents, Agnes Saulsbury Wiggins of Colerain, James and Hattie Mabine of Ahoskie and Clotie Swain of Windsor.
