Joseph P. Flood Jr.
GREENVILLE – Joseph Paul Flood Jr., 40, died at Pitt Memorial Hospital on December 21, 2006.
Flood was formerly employed with Bennett Box Company in Aulander and worked on a farm.
Survivors include his parents, Mable Morris Flood of Powellsville and Joseph Paul Flood Sr. of Newport News, Va.; a daughter, Latisha Blount of Aulander; two sisters, Karen White of Aulander and Geraldine Flood of Ahoskie; and one brother, James Flood of Windsor.
A funeral was held Tuesday, December 26 at Wilder’s Funeral Home Chapel in Aulander. Burial followed in the Morris Family Cemetery in Powellsville.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc. of Aulander is in charge of services.
Lee A. Osteen Jr.
COLERAIN – Lee Alexander Osteen Jr., 82, of 1334 Wakelon Road died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Bertie Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 28, 1923 to the late Geneva Berryhill and Lee Alexander Osteen Sr.
Osteen was a member of Askewville Assembly of God Church and was a retired saw filer.
Survivors include his wife, Sally White Osteen, of Colerain; a daughter, Sally Ann O. Rue, of Hertford; a son, Calvin Lee Osteen of Colerain; a sister, Geneva Kirkpatrick of Baldwin, West Virginia; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 28 at Askewville Assembly of God by the Rev R.O. Denton Jr. and the Rev. R.O. Denton Sr.
Burial will follow in the White Family Cemetery on Wakelon Road.
The family will receive friends from 7 n 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor and at other times from the home.

ROANOKE RAPIDS – Mary J. Nelson, 67, died at Halifax Regional Medical Center December 25, 2006.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. They are being handled by H.D. Pope Funeral Home.
