JACKSONVILLE – A fourth place showing in the state was followed up by a fifth-place finish in the regionals.

Bethel Christian Academy secured a fifth place finish in the regionals recently and had Mandy Bazemore named to the All-Tournament team.

The trip to the regionals was the first ever for the Lady Eagles. It came on the heels of a Final Four finish in the state tournament.

They rebounded in the next contest to defeat third-seeded Jacksonville in three games.

Jacksonville won the first one 25-15, but the Lady Eagles bounced back to win 25-23 and 25-19 to continue their tournament run.

The final match of the year came when the Eagles fell to Jesus Is Lord by a count of 25-15 and 25-16.

The Bethel volleyball team is comprised of Kayla Overton, Christian Wolfe, Mandy Bazemore, Brittany Howell, Erin Young, Julia Cullipher, Brandy Palmer and Brooke Freeman.
