AHOSKIE – Get ready for some “Red, White and Boom!”
Following tradition, the Town of Ahoskie will host its annual fireworks show on Tuesday, July 4 at Hertford County High School.
The night sky will be filled with colorful pyrotechnics beginning shortly past 9 p.m. Parking is available throughout the HCHS campus.
In addition, the Ahoskie Jaycees and Ahoskie Junior Women’s Club will sponsor a July 4th Lawn Party at the parking lot area near the HCHS football field and tennis courts. That event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Featured will be food, beverages, a DJ, games for the kids and Glow Sticks. Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs and come out to enjoy some pre-fireworks fun.
Hamburgers and hot dogs, hot off the grill, and soft drinks will be offered for sale.
Proceeds from the lawn party will be used towards the Friday evening event for Ahoskie Heritage Day in October. The Jaycees have hired a band to provide the entertainment on that night.
