AHOSKIE – Teams from three leagues grabbed victories in the Ahoskie Recreation League this week.

Andy’s – 3, Golden Skillet – 2

Andy’s rallied form a 2-0 deficit to knock off Golden Skillet 3-2 in a Junior League game Tuesday night.

Andy’s scored three runs in the sixth after Golden Skillet had plated one in the first and one in the fifth.

&uot;Corey Saunders pitched a great game and added the first homerun of the season,&uot; Andy’s coach Joe Harrell said.

Saunders was the winning pitcher and had five strikeouts to go with a home run and a single at the plate.

Miles Harrell was also strong offensively with three singles while Blake Hill added two base hits. Rounding out the offensive attack were Edward Joyner, Tony Adams and Bryan White.

Travis Ellis who had three hits, including an RBI, led Golden Skillet. He struck out 12 in the loss.

Patrick Dilday added two hits and Brian Outlaw had one hit.

Cooper-Melton – 15, Athlete’s Foot – 10

Cooper-Melton scored nine runs in the first inning and held on for a 15-10 Midget League victory over Athlete’s Foot Tuesday evening.

Ricky Bradley was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts. Dorrien Askew had the save.

Patrick Kirby struck out nine in the loss and added a triple at the plate for Athlete’s Foot.

Zack Askew had an inside the park homerun for Athlete’s Foot.

Lions – 10, Stoney Creek – 9

The Lion’s rallied for 10 runs in the sixth inning for a 10-9 come-from-behind win over Stoney Creek Diner in Little League action Tuesday night.

Jordan Harrell was the winning pitcher for Lions. He struck out three in relief. Casey Howard started the game and struck out nine.

Harrell led the Lions offensively with four hits. Howard added two hits. Adding base hits were Brandon Owens, Cade Larabee and Clay Barmer.

Michael Byrum had the game-winning hit for Lions.

Daniel Merritt was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Stoney Creek. Petey Boone was also 3-for-4.

Mitchell Godwin had eight strikeouts in the loss.
