Nurnie E. Boone

GATES – Nurnie Elvie Boone, 84, a native of Gates County, of died April 20, 2006 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. He was the widower of Francis C. Boone.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Native America Baptist Church, Winton, by the Rev. Michael Reid and the Rev. Randy Melton. Burial will be in the Boone family cemetery, Gates. Stallings Funeral Chapel, Gatesville, is in charge.

He is survived by a son, Ronald Melton of Gates.

Pecora W. Lewter

BROOKLYN, NY n Pecora W. Lewter, a native of Harrellsville, died April 24, 2006.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Marshall Gore. Burial will be in the Lewter family cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Gladys Perry of New York, Linda Winborne and Dora Sharpe; two sons, Clifton White of New York and Lafayette Winborne of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

L. Poston Sumner

AHOSKIE n Lewis Poston Sumner, 85, a native of Hertford County, died April 27, 2006 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Sumner was a member of Hickory Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church.

He was retired from North Carolina Dominion Power and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Spruill Sumner; three sons, Wesley Sumner of Randleman, Hersey Ray Sumner of Rougemont, Carroll Leonard Sumner of Conway; a sister, Bessie Cavedo of Ashland, VA; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday April 29 at Hickory Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, by the Rev. Michael Williams.

Burial will be in the Sumner family cemetery.

Margie E. Daniel

SEABOARD n Mrs. Margie Edwards Daniel, died April 27, 2006 at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital, Richmond, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Seaboard Baptist Church. Burial will be in Seaboard Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Saturday and other times at the home in Seaboard.
