MERRY HILL – Lawrence Academy looks to be on cruise control.

The Lady Warriors rolled off two more Tarheel Independent Conference victories Monday and Tuesday to improve to a spotless 11-0 in the league.

Monday afternoon the Lady Warriors secured an 11-1 victory over Hobgood Academy thanks to a one-hitter by senior hurler Jessica Johnston.

The right-hander improved her season mark to 9-1 by striking out four, walking one and hitting a single batter.

While Johnston was keeping the Lady Raiders off the base paths, the Warriors were hitting.

Kendall Street led the way with a 2-for-2 performance including a double. Lauren Rea was also hot at the plate, checking in at 3-for-4. Johnston, Lee Anne Eubanks, Ashtyn Mizelle and Ruth Stotesbury were all 2-for-4 on the afternoon. Senior Jodi White was 1-for-3.

A day later, the Lady Warriors swarmed Albemarle School by a final of 21-0.

A four-some of pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter. On the record for the win was Street, who went four innings. White, Stotesbury and Rea also worked to batters during the game completing Lawrence’s tradition of allowing seniors to pitch to at least one batter.

Street was also dominant at the plate where she was 5-for-5 with a grandslam homerun and two doubles. Johnston was 4-for-5 and White was 3-for-4 on the afternoon with a double.

Rea continued her tear, going 3-for-5 including a double while Stotesbury was 2-for-3. Eubanks, Mizelle, Sarah Capehart and Courtney Mizelle each had hits for the Warriors.

The wins improved Lawrence to 14-4 on the season and 11-0 in the TIC, where they will win the regular-season championship for the second consecutive year.

They will meet Pungo Christian Academy today (Thursday) at 3:30 p.m. in the regular season finale.
