AHOSKIE n The Hertford County Sheriff’s Office will hold Operation Ident-i-bike on Saturday, December 17 in the parking area of Wal-Mart in Ahoskie from 10 am – 3 pm.

“We will be registering bicycles so the Sheriff’s Office will have a list in case someone’s bicycle is stolen or lost,” Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan said. “I would like to commend Lt. Marty Davis for starting this program.”

A bicycle, compliments of Wal-Mart, will be given away during Saturday’s event.

“You must register your bicycle to win,” Vaughan added.

Following Saturday’s event, the Sheriff’s Office will hold another day-long event to register bicycles following the Christmas holidays.

The Hertford County Sheriff’s Office will also register bicycles once a week at the office in Winton, but anyone interested must call the office (358-7800) to set up a time to have their bicycle registered.
