GARYSBURG n Claretha Williams Lee, 65, died September 18, 2005 at her home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H.D. Pope Funeral Home is in charge.
Wanda D. Perry
MURFREESBORO n Wanda O. Drake Perry, 41, a native of Hertford County, died September 18, 2005 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater Harvest Fellowship Church, Aulander, by the Rev. Anthony Meadows. Burial will be in the Gatling family cemetery, Woodland. Wilder's Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.
Mrs. Perry was a home health aide at Regional Health Care, and a member of Whole Life Christian Ministry in Murfreesboro.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Marvin Perry of Murfreesboro; children, Carlton Perry and Brandon Perry, both of Murfreesboro and Denise Lashanta Powell of Ahoskie; her mother, Clara Wilson Drake of Powellsville; brothers, John Drake of Colerain, Carlton Drake of Danville, Va., Stanley Drake of Germany, Charles Drake of Suffolk; and her sisters, Joyce Drake of Powellsville and Ida Lee of Ahoskie.
Rachel Hayes
POWELLSVILLE n Rachel Gail Hayes, 79, a native of Bertie County, died September 18, 2005 at her residence.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Colerain, by the Rev. J.W. Best. Burial will be in the Wilder-Cherry Family Cemetery, Aulander. Wilder's Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.
She was a member of Ashland Baptist Church in Merry Hill.
Survivors include her sons, Luther Drake of Elizabeth City, Deacon Roy Drake of Powellsville, the Rev. James Drake of Newport News, Va., Ronald Hayes and Robert Perry, both of Colerain and Larry Moore of Powellsville; daughters, Joyce Ann Leary and Doris Cooper, both of Powellsville, and Janette Harrell of Ahoskie; and brothers, Stephen Hayes of Merry Hill and James York Hayes Jr. of Williamsburg, Va.
Mario T. Cherry
COLERAIN n Mario Terill Cherry, 25, a native of Bertie County, died September 18, 2005.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Colerain, by the Rev. Nathaniel Thompson. Burial will be the Moses Cherry family cemetery, Colerain. Wilder's Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.
Survivors include his mother, Viola Saulsbury Cherry; his father, Moses Cherry; grandmothers, Laura Cherry, all of Colerain and Agnes Saulsbury Wiggins of Powellsville; and a brother, Eric Dwayne Cherry of Colerain.
Patricia H. Riddick
SUNBURY – Patricia Ann &uot;Pat&uot; Hinton Riddick, 58, a native of Pasquotank County, died September 19, 2005, in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.
Mrs. Riddick was a former beautician and caregiver for the elderly, and was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William G. &uot;Billy&uot; Riddick; her daughter, Kimberly Ann Riddick; her son, William A. Riddick, both of Sunbury; her mother, Louise Hinton of Elizabeth City; her sister, Sophie Sawyer of Elizabeth City; her brother, John Lawrence Hinton Jr. of Hertford; and two grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Sandy Cross Baptist Church by the Rev. E. Vernon Gilmer Jr. and the Rev. Tom Hupp. Burial will be in the Riddick family cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the home of Mrs. Riddick's in-laws, Albert and Elva Mae Riddick, 893 Acorn Hill Road, Hobbsville.
Buck Speller
DORCHESTSER , MA n Buck Speller, a native of Bertie County, died September 16, 2005.
He was the widower of Edna Mae Bembury Speller.
Speller was retired from the Polaroid Company.
Survivors include his children, Curtis and Eric of Hyde Park, MA, Dale and Kevin of Brockton, MA, Sandra, Edna, Rhonda and Ronnie all of Dorchester, MA, Darrell of Fall River, MA, Danny of Kentucky and Larry Bass of Virginia; two brothers, Edward Speller of Norfolk, VA and James Speller of Norfolk; two sisters, Elnora Watford of Colerain and Naomi Davis of Ahoskie; 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Holiness Church in Dorchester.
Burial will be held at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Colerain at 2 p.m. followed by burial at Deliverance Temple in Colerain.

James Peoples Sr.
CONWAY n James Lee Peoples Sr., 73, a native of Northampton County, died September 20, 2005 at Halifax Medical Hospital Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at Second Baptist Creeksville, Murfreesboro, by the Rev. Anthony Rawlings. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Belinda Peoples and Joyce Arrington, both of Norfolk, Va.; a son, James Lee Peoples Jr. of Aulander; one brother, Wendell Brandley of Conway; one sister, Ella James of Philadelphia, Pa.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
