Duo wanted for attempted murder

AHOSKIE n Two Ahoskie men are at large following an alleged brutal assault here Thursday night.

Calvin Travis Lassiter, 20, and Davet Zamel Simmons, 22, are wanted by the Ahoskie Police Department on charges of attempted murder as well as assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Lassiter is described as a black male, standing approximately 5'-7" and weighing 150 pounds. He has a medium build and medium complexion.

Simmons, also a black male, is 5'-5", 130 pounds with a light build and dark complexion.

According to Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh, both men are to be considered as armed and extremely dangerous.

Chief Fitzhugh did not release the name of the victim. However, he did say the victim was cut and stabbed several times about his body. The victim was taken to Roanoke-Chowan Hospital and later airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

The stabbing allegedly occurred in the Burden Street area of town.

Ahoskie Police Detective Sgt. Jeremy Roberts is handling the investigation.
