Three HCHS grads at East-West

GREENSBORO – The East-West High School All-Star Football game will be played at Jamison Stadium here tomorrow night.

The game will feature a pair of former Hertford County High School football players and the head coach of the Bears, Greg Watford.

Ken Lee started on offense and defense for the Bears during his senior campaign.

At the quarterback position, he had two touchdown passes while he hauled in one scoring pass as a receiver. He also led the Bears with six interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown.

Lee will continue his football career at Virginia Union.

LaMorris &uot;L.J.&uot; Everette had one touchdown reception and a pair of interceptions during his senior year for the Bears. Everette will also continue his gridiron career at Virginia Union.

Watford, who will return for his second season at the helm of the Bears, led HCHS to the Eastern finals after a 0-4 start.

His first season at the helm of the Bears also saw them finish in the top spot for 3-A teams in the Northeastern Coastal Conference.

He will serve as an assistant coach for the East team.
