Sandra D. Clark

AULANDER – Sandra Devion Clark, 42, a native of Bertie County, died June 29, 2005 at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Wilder's Funeral Home Chapel, Aulander.

Miss Clark was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, Lewiston.

Survivors include her mother, Shirley Clark of Windsor; her father, Booker T. Thompson of Lewiston; a daughter, Latasha M. Clark of Aulander; and a brother, Anthony Clark of Aulander.

Collins R. Epps

FRANKLIN, Va. – Funeral services for Collins R. Epps, 81, will be at noon Saturday at Rising Star Baptist Church, Branchville, Va. Faison's Funeral Home, Seaboard, is in charge.

Elsie M. Norville

ROCKY MOUNT – Elsie Mae Norville, 77, died June 29, 2005 at Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H.D. Pope Funeral Home is in charge.

Roosevelt Joyner

CONWAY – Roosevelt Joyner, 82, a native of Northampton County, died July 1, 2005 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Holley Joyner of Conway.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John AME Church by the Rev. Mildred Brown.

Burial will be in the Holley-Joyner family cemetery in Conway. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge.

Blanche Spruill

COLERAIN – Blanche Spruill, died June 29, 2005 at her residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Colerain, by the Rev. Vernon Lassiter.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include one son, Lassie Spruill Jr. of Colerain; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Handsome

ROANOKE RAPIDS – Mary Handsome, 73, died June 29, 2005 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at New Jerusalem Holiness Church, Garysburg, by Pastor Rosa Banks. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

Alexander Foxe

JACKSONVILLE – Alexander Foxe, 75, died June 28, 2005 at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

A visitation will be held Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home, 150 Williamsburg Parkway, Jacksonville from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 153 Broadway Road, by the Rev. James Brown. Entombment will be in Onslow Memorial Park. H.D. Pope Funeral Home and Morgan Funeral Home is in charge.

Robert F. Blake, Sr.

AHOSKIE – Robert Frank Blake, Sr., 75, of Evergreen Street, died Thursday, June 30, 2005, in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Mr. Blake was born in Roxobel, NC, a son of the late John Frank and Bertha Deaton Blake. He was a member of Creech Memorial Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World, the Roanoke Rapids Moose Lodge and American Legion and was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired as a medical technologist and radiologists.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Nobles Blake; daughters, Debbie Osborn and husband, Gregg of Columbus, GA, Robin Lancaster and husband, Ronald of Peachtree City, GA, Ellen Peele and husband, Jason of Richmond, VA; a son, Robert F. Blake, Jr. and wife, Janet of Fernandina Beach, FL; a sister, Betty Ann Wrenn of Roanoke Rapids, NC; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Patricia Longworth of Cleveland, OH. He was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Kennedy McPherson of Wilmington, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington, NC, with the Rev. Kevin Ross and Rev. Tom Ravan, officiating. The service will conclude with military honors. The family received friends at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005. Memorial donations may be made to Creech Memorial Baptist Church, 501 South Lloyd Street, Ahoskie, NC 27910.

Henry C. Swain

Henry Clifton Swain, 80, of Hampton Va. Son of previously deceased parents Carl & Pearl Swain, formerly of Ahoskie, N.C. went home to his heavenly father on June 28, 2005.

Mr. Swain was the devoted husband of 59 years of Della. He was also brother-in-law of Charlie and Sadie Cobb, Dorothy and Carroll Dunning and Annie G. Jenkins, and an assortment of nieces and nephews, all of Ahoskie N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. William Erickson at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hampton Va. At 1:00 Saturday, July 2, 2005 with burial to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.

Mildred P. Warren

AHOSKIE – Mrs. Mildred &uot;Millie&uot; Parker Warren, age 63 of Ahoskie, NC, died June 30, 2005 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

Mrs. Warren was born June 3, 1942 in Murfreesboro, NC, the daughter of the late Walter Raleigh Parker and Irene Davis Parker. She was also preceded in death by a brother Curtis Parker.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Futrell and her husband, Warren of Rich Square; a son, David Scott Warren, also of Rich Square; her grandsons, Christopher and Michael Futrell; her sister, Aileen Jones and her husband, Bernie of Ahoskie; her brothers, Melvin Parker and his wife, Marie of Suffolk, Va., Richard Parker and his wife, Carol of Norfolk, Va. and Randy Parker and his wife, Rosemary of Murfreesboro, NC. Also, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be private.

The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, NC, Saturday, July 2, 2005 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter, Lori Futrell.

Pattie Bowser

ROANOKE RAPIDS – Pattie Bowser, 69, died June 30, 2005 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Springfield Baptist Church, Littleton, by Minister Sallie Twine. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
