Reward offered in church break-in

GARYSBURG – A reward is being offered in the recent break-in of a church here.

On June 4, a call to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office indicated property had been stolen from Roanoke Salem Missionary Church.

Upon investigation, officers found the church was missing three Craftsman 48-inch cut riding lawnmowers, four Craftsman weed-eaters, two push high-wheel trimmers, one self-propelled push mower, one Craftsman leaf blower, an air tank and more than seven gallons of gas.

&uot;Someone pried the locks from the building and went in to remove these items,&uot; Det. Daryl Harmon said at the time. &uot;We are urging anyone who has any information to contact the Northampton Crimestoppers line or call the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.&uot;

Since that time, Detective Harmon reported a $500 reward has been offered for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime.
