Rotary rallies

AHOSKIE – A battle of unbeaten teams lived up to its billing Saturday.

Rotary scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past Kiwanis is a Junior Little League contest.

The win moved Rotary to 4-0 on the season while dropping Kiwanis to 3-1.

Woody Lowe and Matthew Judge led Rotary with two hits each while Akerman Grace and Jeremy Eason had one each.

Jordan Harrell pitched six innings for Rotary while Ryan Weaver got the win by pitching the final inning.

Landon Larabee was 3-for-4 for Kiwanis while Dorrien Askew was 1-for-2 at the plate.

Savin & Hill 10, Murfreesboro – 1

Neal Howard gave up one hit and one run as Savin & Hill claimed a 10-1 win over Murfreesboro Thursday night.

Savin & Hill had two runs in the first, one each on the second and third, five in the fourth and two in the fifth to secure the Pony League win.

Golden Skillet – 12, Andy’s – 8

Golden Skillet scored eight runs in the bottom of the first to take a 12-8 win over Andy’s here Thursday night in Pony League play.

Andy Daughtridge had the key hit of the inning, providing two RBIs. Dillon Lowe tripled home three runs in the first and Travis Ellis scored three runs.

Daughtridge got the pitching victory to go to 2-0 on the season.

Will Felton had three this for Andy’s while Joe Harrell, Jacob Dunlow and Garry Drake had two hits each.

&uot;We left 13 runners on base and that was the difference in the game,&uot; coach Andy Dunlow said.

Athlete’s Foot – 10, Murfreesboro – 2

Tyler Burden picked up a pitching win as Athlete’s Foot improved to 2-0 with a 10-2 Senior Little League victory here Friday night.

Athlete’s Foot coach Tim Riddick said, &uot;It was an outstanding effort on the mound by Tyler Burden and Neal Brinkley back by a solid defense. Aggressive moves on the bases sealed the win.&uot;

Lions – 11, Stoney Creek – 1

The Lion’s Club scored eight runs in the third inning and grabbed an 11-1 Senior Little League victory over Stoney Creek Friday night.

Miles Harrell was 3-for-3 to lead Lions while Dedonta Beale and Michael Byrum were each 2-for-3. Scott Lowe, Casey Howard and Code Larabee were each 1-for-1.

Beale had six strikeouts in picking up the pitching win.

Brock Merritt hit an inside the park homerun for Stoney Creek and Devonte Spruill went 2-for-2 to lead the offense.

Kiwanis – 16, Mid-East – 3

Brandon Terry pitched four innings, allowing three hits and went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Kiwanis to a 16-3 Junior Little League victory over Mid-East.

Brandon Merritt was 4-for-4 for Kiwanis while Landon Larabee was 3-for-3. Thomas Riddick and Jeremy Blowe were each 2-for-2 on the day.

&uot;Brandon pitched an awesome game and the team played excellent defense,&uot; Kiwanis coach Buddy Terry said.

Raheem Jenkins, Patrick Kirby and John T. Taylor had base hits for Mid-East.

Rotary – 15, WOW – 1

Clay Barmer, Woody Lowe and Akerman Grace combined to lead Rotary to a 15-1 win over WOW here Thursday.

Dylan Foster and Barmer had three hits, including a homerun while Ryan Weaver (one HR) and Matthew Judge had two hits.

Murfreesboro – 6, Stoney Creek – 1

Tyler Pryor picked up the pitching win as Murfreesboro defeated Stoney Creek 6-1 in a Senior Little League game here Tuesday.

Pryor was also 1-for-3 at the plate as he helped Murfreesboro improve to 1-2. Taylor Edwards was 2-for-4 while Cory Davis was 1-for-3 with a double.

Daniel Merrit had a triple for Stoney Creek.

Athlete’s Foot – 5, Lions – 4

Athlete’s Foot scored in the top of the eighth to secure a 5-4 extra inning win over Lions in a Senior Little League game here Tuesday night.

Athlete’s Foot score four runs in the first, but Lions rallied for two in the first and two in the third to force the extra frames.

Joe Harrell, Athlete’s Foot coach, called the win a team effort thanks to pitching by Patrick Dilday, Neal Brinkley and winning pitcher Tyler Burden.

Dilday had a single and a three-run homer while Bryan White had the game-winning RBI-single

Miles Harrell, Austin Britton, Curtis Michael and Casey Howard had one hit each for Lions.

Golden Skillet – 19, Murfreesboro – 9

Golden Skillet scored multiple runs in every inning to secure a 19-9 Pony League win over Murfreesboro here Tuesday night.

Travis Ellis was the winning pitcher and also went 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored. Dillon Lowe was 2-for-4 with four runs scored while Josh Lane going 2-for-3with two runs scored.

The win boosted Golden Skillet to 3-0.

Ryan Cooke had two hits and two runs scored for Murfreesboro.

Andy’s – 12, Savin & Hill – 0

Jacob Harrell had three hits and three RBIs to lead Andy’s to a 12-0 Pony League win over Savin & Hill Tuesday.

Corey Saunders and Garry Drake each recorded a double for the victors.

Jacob Dunlow got the pitching win by striking out 10 in five innings and surrendering one hit.
