Reginald Copeland
RICH SQUARE – Reginald &uot;Moon&uot; Copeland, 57, a native of Northampton County, died November 27, 2004 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A funeral was conducted Tuesday at Wilder’s Funeral Home Chapel, Aulander. Burial was in Rich Square Church Cemetery.
Copeland was a brick mason. He was a member of First Baptist Rich Square and a veteran of the Air Force.
Survivors include his mother, Lourine Parker of the home; three sons, Tony Belfield of New York, Felix Taylor of Rich Square and Reginald Bryant of Paterson, N.J.; stepmother, Doris Clark of Rich Square; four sisters, Dorothy Stancil, Patricia Richardson, Helen Tann and Marylin Richardson; one foster sister, Hessie Ward of Rich Square; and five grandchildren.
Walter L. Moreadith
AHOSKIE – Walter L. Moreadith, 31, of Ahoskie, died Sunday, November 28, 2004.
Mr. Moreadith was born May 14, 1973, in Craven County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of Creech Memorial Baptist Church and employed by Nucor Steel.
Surviving are his wife, Clair Moreadith; son, Trenton Moreadith, both of Ahoskie; parents, David and Tresia Moreadith of New Bern; brothers, David and Daniel Moreadith, both of Sanford, NC; and sisters, Davina, Rebekah, Rachel and Deborah Moreadith, all of New Bern.
A memorial service was conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Creech Memorial Baptist Church, with the Reverend Tom Raven officiating. The visitation was Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Creech Memorial Baptist Church, 502 South Lloyd Street, Ahoskie, NC 27910.
Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, was in charge of arrangements.
Queen McLemore
LITTLETON – Queen Esther McLemore, 75, died November 28, 2004 at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, is in charge.
Roberta E. Barker
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Roberta Denese Elks Barker, 56, died November 27, 2004. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Lasker Cemetery, Lasker. Massey Funeral Home, Jackson, is in charge.
Alton Boone
AHOSKIE – Alton Boone, a native of Northampton County, died November 29, 2004 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Howard Moses. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.
Boone was a retired pallet maker for Bennett Box.
Survivors include four sisters, Elizabeth Wright and Nellie Perry, both of Ahoskie, Pecolia Moses of Weldon and Cleo Wiggins of Washington, D.C.
Carrie Weaver
MAPLETON – Carrie M. Weaver, 59, a native of Hertford County, died November 29, 2004 at her residence.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Parker’s Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph Weaver. Burial will be in the Gatling family cemetery. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Murfreesboro, is in charge.
Mrs. Weaver was a retired sewing machine operator for Four Seasons in Murfreesboro. She was a member of Parker’s Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Weaver of Mapleton; one daughter, Sherry Russell of Chesterfield, Va.; her mother, Evoria Gatling of Mapleton; one sister, Marion Gatling; and one grandson.
Mary Devore
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Mary Devore, 80, a native of Hertford County, died November 25, 2004 at Kings County Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Hunter’s Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kim Bonds. Burial will be in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery, Cofield.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Devore and Johnny Devore, both of Brooklyn; and one sister.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Funeral arrangements for Lathon &uot;Buddy&uot; Drone will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Creeksville. Burial will be in the family cemetery. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Murfreesboro, is in charge.
