GREENSBORO – The North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association volleyball playoffs were seeded here Sunday.
Two local squads and four total members of the Tarheel Independent Conference will be making plans to begin their quest for a state title today (Tuesday) as the playoffs begin.
Ridgecroft School (14-5), a final four member last year, was seeded fifth in the state tourney while Lawrence Academy, a TIC tournament finalist, was tabbed as the eighth seed.
The Lady Rams will host 12th seeded High Point Christian today. The visiting squad enters Ahoskie with an 11-13 mark on the season.
Tarheel Independent Conference Player of the Year Jessica Misse will lead Ridgecroft as they look to make a return trip to the NCISAA finals. Also key to their run will be All-TIC selection Rachel Revelle and All-Conference Honorable Mention Jo Revelle Murray.
Meanwhile, Statesville Christian (13-8) will be making the trip to Merry Hill Tuesday to meet the 15-10 Lady Warriors.
Lawrence will depend on the senior leadership of All-TIC selection Catherine Outten as well as the serving of Honorable Mention Morgan Phelps. In addition, All-Tournament selections Jodi White and Jessica Johnston will be key if they are to continue their late season run.
