ROXOBEL – A 41-year-old man and two young women were arrested here Tuesday night in a drug raid at a Roxobel residence.

Bertie County Sheriff Greg Atkins reported that John Henry Foreman, 41, of 404 Church Street, was jailed under a $125,000 secured bond after nearly two ounces of crack cocaine was discovered in his home. A narcotics K9 from the Gates County Sheriff’s Office, who assisted the Bertie lawmen in making the arrests, discovered the illegal drugs.

Foreman was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sale and deliver cocaine, and maintaining a dwelling as a place to store and sale a controlled substance.

Two women – Fredrica Deloatch, 18, of Pendleton and Jessica Locket, 23, of Murfreesboro – were at the residence at the time the search warrant was executed and both were charged. Deloatch, placed under a $5,000 bond, faces a charge of cocaine possession while Locket ($5,500 bond) was charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana.

Sheriff Atkins said that the arrests were the result of an ongoing investigation by Bertie County Narcotics Division officers Frank Timberlake and Kenny Gilliam in regards to alleged illegal drug activity at the residence.

&uot;The guys did a good job on this case,&uot; said Sheriff Atkins. &uot;We had received a number of complaints concerning this particular residence and we followed through with an investigation, one that led us in building a case against Mr. Foreman and making the arrest.&uot;

The Sheriff also thanked the Gates County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
