Patricia S. Matthews
COMO – Patricia Smith Matthews, 59, a native of Northampton County, died April 10, 2004, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
A graveside service was conducted Wednesday in Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Robert May. Garrett Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, was in charge.
Mrs. Matthews was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Putnam of Como and Deneen Smith of Milwaukee, Wis.; a son, Keith Matthews of Princeton, IN; one sister, Mary Comas of Murfreesboro; and seven grandchildren.
Clara C. Bristow
CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Clara Collier Bristow, 93, a native of Conway, died April 14, 2004, in Tiffany Hall Nursing Home, Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was the widow of Luther Joshua Bristow.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sturtevant Funeral Home by the Rev. Les Smith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 4125 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
Mrs. Bristow was a member of Grace Bible Church and worked at SEVAMP until age 90.
Survivors include a daughter, Arlene Brown of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a son, Leslie E. Bristow of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and great-great-grandchildren.
Geneva Sharpe
AHOSKIE – Geneva Sharpe, died April 17, 2004, at her residence.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Union by the Rev. Melvin Little. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church Union.
Survivors include her mother, Rebecca Falice of Ahoskie; two daughters, Vanessa and Karen Sharpe, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Anthony Baker of Ahoskie; one sister, Louise Lee of Norfolk, Va.; and one grandchild.
Monica D. Ward
ROCKY MOUNT – Monica Denise Ward, died April 17, 2004, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital, Chapel Hill.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge.
