AHOSKIE – An employee of Ace Hardware in Ahoskie has been arrested and charged with larceny by employee.

According to Captain Mike Cherry of the Ahoskie Police Department, Yolanda Holloman, 28, of 210 S. Lloyd St., Ahoskie, was arrested January 14 following a 7-day investigation.

Cherry said his department received a call on January 7 from the owners of Ace Hardware stating they felt they had had false return receipts placed in the cash drawer.

Officer M. Henry handled the preliminary investigation and it was his believe that the suspect may have been taking cash for the false receipts being placed in the drawer.

Sgt. T. Fitzhugh was eventually assigned to the case following Henry’s findings and Cherry said those findings resulted in the arrest of Holloman.

The accused was placed under a $10,000 bond and was scheduled for her first court appearance January 16 in Hertford County District Court.
