Jahavi J. Williams
GARYSBURG – Jahavi Jahon Jariq Williams, infant, died October 11, 2003, at UNC Chapel Hill.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Crestview Memorial cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, by the Rev. Quientrell Burrell Jr. The family will receive friends at at the home, 408 Chockoyotte Street in Roanoke Rapids, Wednesday and Thursday. H.D. Pope Funeral Home is in charge.
Raleigh M. Joyner Jr.
AHOSKIE – Raleigh Matthew Joyner Jr., 64, a native of Hertford County, died October 12, 2003.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Metropolitan Church, Aulander, by the Rev. Darlene Smith. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. The body will be placed in the church at 12 noon on the day of the service. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge.
Survivors include his children, the Rev. Darlene Smith of Hampton, Va., Yvonne Hardy of Aulander and Lisa Joyner-Gervin of Fayetteville, Ga.; eight sisters, Joyce Ridley and Barbara Jean Riddick, all of Ahoskie, Elsie Blythe of Como, Thelma Dunn, Viola Taylor and Vergie Jones, all of Hampton, Linda Joyner of Winton and Annette Joyner of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Bill Fennell of St. John, Eddie Joyner of Baltimore, Md., Curtis W. Joyner of Ahoskie and Mark Joyner of Como; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Lillian Jenkins
NORFOLK, Va. – Lillian Jenkins, a native of Halifax, died October 13, 2003 at her residence.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Coolspring Missionary Baptist Church, Weldon. Burial in the church cemetery. The remains will be ready for viewing Thursday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, www.carlosahowardfuneralhome.com.
Mrs. Jenkins was a beautician and a member of Coolspring Missionary Baptist Church in Weldon.
Survivors include her husband, Spencer Jenkins; two daughters, Stacey Cobb of Norfolk and Tiffany Wright of Chesapeake; a son, Jason Jenkins of Norfolk; three sisters, Premrose T. Rook of Garysburg, Carrie Turner of Norfolk and Noretha Button of Norfolk; two brothers, Moses L. Turner of Gaston, and Abraham Turner of Roanoke Rapids; and five grandchildren.
Otilma W. Stallings
BELVIDERE – Otilma Ward Stallings, 91, a native of Gates County, died October 13, 2003. She was the widow of Jack Stallings.
A graveside service was conducted Wednesday in the family cemetery on Joppa Road by the Rev. E. Vernon Gilmer Jr. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, was in charge.
Mrs. Stallings was a homemaker and a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Evelyn S. Arnold of Belvidere, Willie Jean White of Hobbsville and Margaret Ann Stallings of Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

AHOSKIE – Dorothy Freeman, died October 15, 2003, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
