Catching up on much-needed rest

Between writing a final paper for my Shakespeare class, addressing and stuffing envelops at my internship, and getting settled in my new house, I barely have enough time to get a decent night’s sleep.

I am pretty sure that all of us have had days when there has been so much to do and not enough time to do it.

And if you are anything like me, you worry and stress out until it is all finished.

Right now, I have a to-do list that could possibly be a page long – yikes!

My parents and friends tell me to stop worrying so much- everything will get finished.

But that is so hard to do when your to-do list never seems to get any smaller.

So here is a condensed version of my week’s to do list.

My final paper, which must be about one of William Shakespeare’s many very hard to comprehend plays, is number one on my list.

Considering that it is one of the three only grades in that class, I just have to do well on it.

And to top that off, I think I have to worst professor on campus for this class.

Please wish me luck!

Then, at my internship, there are countless stacks of envelopes that need to be addressed, stuffed, and mailed by Friday.

And guess who gets to complete this task?

That’s right-me!

I think my hand might fall off before I am finished with that.

Anyone want to trade jobs until Friday?

And then there is my new house.

Anna, Kelly, Kristen and I have been trying to move our things in for two weeks now, and we are still not quite finished.

A little advice-don’t save every little thing that you get just because you think &uot;one day I might need it.&uot;

More than likely you won’t.

We have finally gotten the rooms halfway decorated, minus all the unnecessary junk.

Hopefully, everything will be finished before school starts in August.

And, after much confusion, the cable and internet are hooked up.

Speaking from personal experience, it is terrible to be an internet-deprived college student, and I am not just talking about instant messaging either.

Some of us actually do some work too, believe it or not.

But, as usual, once one thing is fixed, something else always seems to go wrong.

Our wonderful new house has bugs, centipedes to be exact.

Anna and I have had several encounters with these disgusting creatures – attempting to vacuum them up with the vacuum cleaner and spraying them with anything from hairspray to window cleaner.

Girls and bugs with lots of legs are not a good combination.

Needless to say, we have called the exterminators.

But, until they come to our rescue, all four of us will be very careful of where we step.

Ahh, that makes me cringe just thinking about it!

So yes, I have tons to do and, yes, I am just a little stressed about it.

But as I was carrying a box full of magazines into work today, I realized, thanks to the 100 degree weather, that it is summer.

This is a time of year when we need to take some time to relax and enjoy ourselves.

Myself especially, because this is the last summer before I finish college.

So I am going to put my to-do list to the side, at least for tonight.

I have a couple of weeks to work on what hopefully ends up being an A+ paper, so there is no need to worry about it tonight.

Unfortunately, the envelopes won’t address and stuff themselves, but I am sure they will be there waiting for me tomorrow.

Five hours should be more than enough time to finish them, but I can always bring them home with me.

And last on my to-do list is my new house.

School doesn’t start until August, so we really do have until then to get everything finished – except those nasty centipedes, They just better watch out for the vacuums and hairspray because Anna and I sure know how to use them!

Too bad for them, but the exterminator is coming tomorrow – or at least he said he was.

Now that I have shortened my to-do least, what I am going to do?

Take a little break and relax.

Sometimes we all need to forget our hectic schedules and long to-do lists and take a break.

And that is exactly what I am going to do tonight.

So please don’t call me after nine – I will be catching up on some much-needed sleep.
