GREENSBORO – Joseph Armster Harrell, Jr., age 78, of Greensboro, passed away on July 2, 2016 at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Mr. Harrell was born in Bertie County on June 7, 1938, a son of the late Joseph Armster and Sybil Forehand Harrell. Joseph was a graduate of Colerain High School and received a bachelors degree in accounting from Guilford College. He was retired as a sales manager from Blue Ox Company.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Joyce Chitty Harrell; two daughters, Karen Leigh Combs and husband Sterling of Charlotte, NC, and Jogenia Hope Abernathy and husband Fred of Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren, Logan Webb Combs and Kaylee Nicole Combs of Charlotte, NC, and Samuel Jackson Abernathy of Chapel Hill, NC; and his brother, Randy Harrell of West Point, VA.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Colerain, NC, with Rev. Gary Saffel, officiating.
