HARRELLSVILLE – Rev. Hugh Worth Mizelle 61, of 1432 Swains Mill Road, Harrellsville, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

He was born in Bertie County to the Doris White Mizelle and the late Rev. Hubert L. Mizelle. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Michael Mizelle.

“Ducie” was the minister for 33 years and served Christian Harbor Church from 1997 until present. He attended Halifax Community College and was a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. He served four years in the US Coast Guard.

Funeral services will be held Sunday April 14, 2013 at Christian Harbor Baptist Church by the Rev. Greg Hurdle, the Rev. Tommy Tripp and the Rev. J. N. Baggett.  Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Rita M. Mizelle of the home; daughter, Wendy Mizelle Peterson of Farmville; sons, Randy Mizelle and Chris Mizelle, both of Jamesville; step daughters, Ginger Dawson of Harrellsville, and Jill Evans of Colerain; step son, Jeremy Dawson of Colerain; mother, Doris White Mizelle of Windsor; sister, Billi Jo Hamilton of Greenville; brothers, Mike Mizelle of South Mills, Tim Mizelle of Colerain, and the Rev. Al Mizelle of Windsor; and 12 grandchildren.
