JACKSON – Two Northampton County Sheriff’s deputies have been placed on administrative leave following charges being lodged against them in two separate incidents.

Sheriff Wardie P. Vincent confirmed Sgt. Lynette Clements and Lt. Cory Jackson have been placed on administrative leave pending investigation.

According to the Northampton County Clerk’s Office, Clements was served a warrant for assault and battery on July 26.

Vincent said the incident allegedly occurred on April 8 when Clements was off-duty and working security at a club.

Clements allegedly “unlawfully and willfully did assault and strike (a female victim) by pushing her numerous times with both hands on her back,” the warrant states.

According to the document, Clements allegedly continued to push the woman after she had exited the club and was in the parking lot.

Jackson was charged with false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon on June 1 for an incident that occurred on Jan. 15.

According to the warrant, Jackson allegedly “unlawfully restrained and detained” a male victim by handcuffing the man behind his back and placing him in a caged in car to prevent the victim from getting out of the car.

Jackson also allegedly fired a hand gun at the victim four times.
