MURFREESBORO — With three suspects already behind bars, law enforcement is looking for a fourth person suspected in a violent armed robbery here.

According to Murfreesboro Police Chief Darrell Rowe, Waverly Eason, 28, of Murfreesboro remains at large after an armed robbery that occurred just after midnight Tuesday at Fox Ridge Apartments on NC 11.

Meanwhile, the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office and MPD have arrested three other suspects for the crime, they are: Christopher T. Lee, 22, of Aulander, Quantez Everett, 19, of Murfreesboro and Kenya T. Futrell, 25, of Murfreesboro.

Rowe said the MPD received a call from the apartment complex at approximately 12:15 a.m. where a person had reportedly been robbed.

Upon arriving at the scene, MPD officers spoke to the victim who apparently was answering a knock on the door when four men, each wearing a mask, forced their way into the home.

“Two of the four were armed with guns, one with a shotgun and another with a pistol,” said Rowe. “Once inside the apartment the suspects demanded money.”

At one point, Rowe said, the victim was struck several times in the head by the suspect with the shotgun.

“The suspect with the pistol fired and the shot went into the wall of the apartment,” he said.

Rowe said the suspects took a small amount of money and then fled the scene in a vehicle.

MPD officers issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for that vehicle, which was located on Pinetops Road by Hertford County Deputy Scott Cofield a short time later.

Rowe said Cofield initiated a vehicle stop and one suspect fled the scene. Cofield, assisted by MPD Sgt. Jamie Dilday and Officer William Barmer, searched the vehicle in which they found clothing consistent with those worn during the robbery, a .45 caliber high point pistol and a small amount of marijuana.

Lee, Everett and Futrell were charged with burglary, robbery, second degree kidnapping, larceny pursuant to breaking and entering and conspiracy. Rowe added that Eason is also facing those charges.

Lee, Everett and Futrell were placed in the Hertford County Jail under a $100,000 bond each.

Rowe praised the work of both HCSO and MPD officers.

“I want to thank both the Sheriff’s Office and Murfreesboro officers for their quick response in getting these dangerous people off the street,” he said.

Rowe urged Eason to contact the MPD and asked those who know of his whereabouts to contact the agency.
