Robert Carlton Elliott, 83, of Carolina Ave., Hertford, died Monday, November 23, 2009, at Brian Care Center of Hertford.
A native of Perquimans County, he was retired as town manager for the City of Ahoskie and was the former town clerk for the Town of Hertford. He was a member of the Windsor Masonic Lodge #5 and a former member and chief of the Hertford Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Divers Elliott; a daughter, Carla Elliott Allen of Moticello, KY; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 in Swindell Funeral Chapel, Hertford, with the Rev. Gene Boyce officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. A private burial will take place in Cedar Wood Cemetery.
