Ruby R. Scott

AULANDER, NC – Ruby R. Scott, 102, was born March 31, 1923, in Bertie County, NC to the late John J. and Claddie Rudison. She departed her life on June 16, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Cheltenham, MD.

Ruby worked for many years at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, now known as ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. She was a longtime member of Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Aulander, NC.

She is survived by her children, Maurice (Priscilla) of Benton Harbor, MI, Curtis Scott (Roberta) of Winston-Salem, NC, Wilhelmina Pugh (Willie) of Cheltenham, MD, and Sandria Scott-Fletcher (Darrell) of Washington, DC; beloved grandchildren, Morrice, Keisha, Dawn, Arika, Renee, Avery, Devan, Willie II, and Janeen; five great grandchildren, Ameera, Brittney, Avery (AJ), Cairo, and Cyrus; one great great grandchild, Rayne; one nephew, Donnell (Sylvia), and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
