HALIFAX – An Ahoskie man was charged early Friday morning (June 20) with possessing a concealed gun with an altered serial number, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Jashon Holloman
Deputy R. Lafayette made a traffic stop on Jashon Holloman, age 20, around 1 a.m. in the southbound lane of Interstate 95 at the 168 mile marker. The stop was for a motor vehicle violation, Halifax Sheriff’s Major Anzell Harris said.
During a search of the vehicle, a Glock 43X handgun with an extended magazine was located concealed inside the vehicle. Further examination of the firearm revealed the serial number had been altered.
Lafayette, with assistance from Deputy J. Butler, arrested and charged Holloman with altering a firearm serial number and carrying a concealed gun.
Holloman received a $2,500 unsecured bond, according to eCourts records and has a June 26 district court date in Halifax County.
eCourts records also show that the Ahoskie Police stopped Holloman on May 22, charging him for driving without a license. Holloman has a September 10 court district court date for that charge in Hertford County.
