MURFREESBORO – Hope’s School of Dance will conduct its annual Dance Recital at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 at Turner Auditorium on the campus of Chowan University.
Tickets are $12 each and available at the door.
The theme this year is “Easy, Breezy, Beautiful” and it marks their 24th recital.
Many dance styles will be performed, including ballet, tap, lyrical, and contemporary, to name a few.
It has been a busy season at Hope’s School of Dance, located on Main Street in Ahoskie. In October was a first ever Halloween show – “DANSE MACABRE” – at Ahoskie Elementary School. In December the dance school was invited to perform with Jessica Lynn at The Acorn Center.
The months ahead will be just as busy as Miss Hope, as her students call her, puts on her director’s hat and takes on The Sound of Music! She is partnering with The Freedom Players for this production. If you are interested in participating there is still space available for children, ages 6-18. Contact Hope Miller or Caroline Stephenson for more information.
In the Fall, classes resume at Hope’s School of Dance for their 25th season. Registration begins in July and August. Find them on Facebook and Instagram for more information. If you don’t do social media, check out their new website at www.hmdanceschool.com.
In November, the dance school will be holding their first ever student showcase. This will be a fundraiser in efforts to install new flooring in the dance studio.
In December they will have a Christmas show, WHAT CHILD IS THIS, at Ahoskie Elementary School.
