Ahoskie man shot

AHOSKIE – An Ahoskie man is hospitalized after being shot here late Monday night.

Ahoskie Police Chief Michele Garrett said that 26-year-old Tamahjae Williams, who resides on Jernigan Airport Road, was found in the area of Kiwanis Street and Everette Street suffering from a gunshot wound. This came after Ahoskie Police had responded to that area at around 11:43 p.m. in reference to a “shots fired” call.

Garrett said that one occupied apartment at Cypress Court, located at the end of East Everette Street, had a projectile to penetrate through the wall. Additionally, an occupied vehicle located in the same general area was struck by a bullet. No injuries were reported at either location.

The case remains under investigation. There was no information available regarding a suspect or suspects.
