Breaking and entering suspect arrested in Gates County

GATESVILLE – The Gates County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges in a residential breaking and entering that occurred on May 16.

Gates County Sheriff Ray Campbell said that deputies were dispatched to a home in the area of Millpond Road after the property owners discovered the residence to have been broken into.

After a canvass of the area, deputies were able to develop a suspect and were able to locate that person a short time later.

Campbell said that Kevin Michael Griffith admitted to breaking into the home and was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with breaking and entering as well as injury to personal property.

The Sheriff added that Griffith initially lied about his identity and upon correct identification he was found to have arrest warrants out of Forsyth County. Griffith was served with the outstanding warrants and also charged with resisting a public officer for providing incorrect information.
