LEWISTON WOODVILLE – A local man is sought after firing shots at Bertie Sheriff’s deputies this morning (Friday).

The Bertie Sheriff’s Office, through their Facebook page, say they are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Dominique Javon Thompson, age 34 of Lewiston Woodville, for discharging a firearm at deputies this morning on Weeping Mary Road in Lewiston Woodville.

Thompson fled the scene in a 2024 Hyundai Elantra (white in color with a black front and rear bumper) with NC license plate number LCE-3119.

No deputies were injured.

Thompson is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach if located. He may have fled to the Kinston area.
