Lowry earns prestigious national credential

WINTON – Hertford County Manager Oryan D. Lowry has been awarded the Credentialed Manager designation by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), recognizing his commitment to excellence, leadership, and ethical governance.

Lowry, who became Hertford County’s manager in August of last year, is among just over 1,300 local government professionals worldwide to receive this honor. He brings 13 years of executive experience to the role, including his previous service as Town Manager of Grifton, NC.
To earn the credential, candidates must demonstrate senior executive experience, a degree in public administration or a related field, and a strong commitment to integrity and professional development.
Lowry’s leadership highlights include participating in ICMA’s Leadership Institute on Race, Equity, and Inclusion, and the Gettysburg Leadership Institute.

Lassiter, Sr., Chairman of the Hertford County Board of Commissioners. “This designation reflects his dedication to ethical leadership, innovation, and service excellence, values that align with Hertford County’s commitment to our residents.”
