RICH SQUARE – Outstanding warrants were served here last week on one of the individuals whose home was searched on March 13 at which time several weapons and illegal drugs were located.

Markel Reid
Markel Reid, age 26 of Rich Square, was arrested April 25 by Northampton Sheriff’s Deputy J. Johnston. Reid was served with outstanding arrest warrants stemming from the March 13 search conducted by the Northampton Sheriff’s Office, Rich Square Police Department, and Down East Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. It was on that date where simultaneous search warrants were executed at two different addresses in the town limits of Rich Square on Roberts Road within the same neighborhood.
The search warrants stemmed from citizens’ complaints of drug sales and weapon violations in the Rich Square community.
As a result of the search warrant at one of the residences, law enforcement officers located and seized four firearms, including two handguns that had been reported as stolen, one shotgun that had been reported as stolen, as well as one “Micro Draco.” The officers also located and seized 90 dosage units of Oxycodone Hydrochloride along with multiple items used to prepare and package narcotics for sale.
The discovery of those items led to arrest warrants being drawn on Reid for possession of a stolen firearm, trafficking opium and/or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Upon his arrest on April 25, Reid was held under a $10,000 secured bond and a court date scheduled for Aug. 7.
In addition, Reid was charged on April 25 for possession of more than one half ounce of marijuana as well as given a citation for a traffic violation.
Two others were arrested on March 13 as a result of search warrants.

Kiiriq Collins
Upon the search at the other residence on Roberts Road, law enforcement officers located and seized three firearms, Oxycodone Hydrochloride tablets, marijuana, and multiple items used to prepare and package narcotics for sale. That led to charges on 29-year-old Kiiriq Collins of Rich Square for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as well as served with an outstanding order for arrest for assault on a female.
Collins was currently under a pretrial release for possession with the intent to sell and/or deliver heroin. Therefore, the Pre-Trail Integrity Release Act prevented him from receiving a bond for at least 48 hours. He later received a $20,000 secured bond on the firearm by felon charge and a court date scheduled for July 14. He received a $40,000 secured bond for the failure to appear.
In addition, 21-year-old Izeece King of Rich Square was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia. King was released on a written promise to appear at a court date scheduled for Aug. 28.
