AHOSKIE – Rita Faye Forbus Casper, born on October 13, 1959, in Anniston, Alabama, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at Ahoskie Health and Rehabilitation, Ahoskie, North Carolina, at the age of 65.
Rita was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She dedicated many years of her life working as a Jewelry Store Clerk, where she delighted customers with her warm smile and friendly service. Her work was a testament to her commitment and passion for bringing joy and helping others.
Rita had a rich life filled with interests that captured her authentic spirit. She was known for her love of Alabama football, earning her the title of “Alabama Football Queen.” Loud and proud of her Southern roots, she enjoyed regular beauty shop trips to get her hair done, and her vibrant personality shone through in every gathering. She also relished games of Yahtzee, sunbathing under the warm sun, and cherished every moment spent with her family during beloved gatherings where cooking, eating, and laughter were abundant. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Forbus and Ruby Dobbs Forbus. She is survived by her loving husband, Cedric Casper; children, Joshua Collins and wife Ashley of Aulander, and Amanda Myers and husband Justin of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Erica Phillips, Richard, William, and Peter Myers. Also surviving her is her brother, Dennis Forbus and his wife Karen of Leeds, Alabama.
Family and friends will gather at the home to celebrate her life at a later date. Rita will be laid to rest in her beloved hometown of Anniston, Alabama, resting peacefully among familiar surroundings.
