MILLENNIUM – Jimmy Elbert Liverman, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, with his beloved family by his side. Jimmy was born on January 21, 1950 in Ahoskie, NC to parents Levy Elbert Liverman and Beulah Mae Brantley Liverman, he led a life filled with dedication, laughter, and love.

Jimmy was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where his presence will be sorely missed. In his early years, Jimmy worked in building supplies with A. W. Myers, where he honed his skills and work ethic. He later found a fitting career with Brittenham’s Rebuilding Services, dedicating many years to rebuilding starters and alternators. His craftsmanship and commitment were unparalleled.

Jimmy was a man of many talents and interests. Known for his deep love of fishing and boats, he often spent peaceful days near the water. His passion for woodworking meant his hands were rarely idle, and he could fix anything he set out to mend. An inventive spirit, Jimmy constantly built and created, leaving behind a legacy of handiwork.

Those who knew him will fondly remember his vibrant personality. As the life of the party, Jimmy always brought joy and laughter wherever he went, with a story or joke ready to brighten someone’s day. He proudly shared tales of his family, whom he loved unconditionally. The family invites those who knew him to share their stories and memories, either online or through a personal note, that they might cherish these precious moments forever. As we bid farewell to our beloved soul, let us celebrate a life well-lived, inspired by his kindness, humor, and devotion.

Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Gregory Liverman, Sr., and Len Gray Liverman.

Left to cherish Jimmy’s memory is his beloved wife, Phyllis Williams Liverman; his children, Angela Liverman Lassiter and husband Billy of Ahoskie, and Jimmy Elbert Liverman, Jr. and wife Casey of Ahoskie; step-daughter, Lisa Beamon and husband Gordon of Gatesville; grandchildren, Evan Lassiter and wife Caroline of Raleigh, Callie Liverman, Cailyn Liverman, both of Ahoskie, and Brandi Deanes and husband Ryan of Aulander; great-grandchildren, Emerson Faye Lassiter, Brantley Hunter Deanes, William Evans Deans, II; half-sisters, Lori Kozlak, Lisa Campbell, and Elizabeth Sherley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of life memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Aulander, NC with Pastor Greg Hurdle officiating.
