Klaire Cherry and Madison Joyner each had a double for Ridgecroft.

Cherry, Knowles, and Evi Watson each stole two bases.

Cherry went the distance on the mound for the Lady Rams. She scattered six hits, walked two, and fanned nine batters.

Three days later at Pungo, the Lady Rams again waited until the later innings to get their offense rolling.

Trailing 1-0, Ridgecroft grabbed the lead for-keeps by scoring two runs in the top of the fourth inning. They plated one run in each the fifth and sixth innings before closing out with a three-run uprising in the seventh to win 7-2.

The Lady Rams finished with 10 hits, led by two each from Cherry, Watson and Katie Vaughan. One of Vaughan’s hit was a double, which helped her drive in three runs during the game.

Cherry again pitched a complete game, earning the victory by allowing just two runs off eight hits. She walked one batter and fanned four.

Last week, Ridgecroft stepped outside the conference during a visit to Hertford County High School. There, the Lady Rams banged out 20 hits en route to an 18-0 win in five innings.

Cherry, Vaughan, Lacey Berryman and Callie Liverman each had three hits to lead the way. Two of Berryman’s hits were doubles, helping her to drive home four runs, while Vaughan had two triples, one double, and three RBIs.

Cherry started on the mound for the Lady Rams. Berryman and Watson came on in relief as the trio of hurlers combined for a no-hitter, striking out nine batters.

Ridgecroft (7-2 overall) returns to conference action this week with two games vs. Northeast Academy.
