MURFREESBORO, NC – Theressa Gary Jones of 115 Storey Road, Murfreesboro, NC was born on October 8, 1931 to the late Sidney Gary and Betty McNair Gary in Northampton County. She passed away on March 21, 2025 at ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC at the age of 93.

Theressa was a member of Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, NC where she served as a Deaconess and usher. She was involved in many other church and community activities. She was also a member of Eastern Star.

Theressa was married to the late Major Lee Mann Sr. and after his death she married Johnnie Randolph Jones who also preceded her in death.

She worked at Georgia-Pacific in Murfreesboro, NC and also at Halifax Laundry Company.

She is survived by her children, Gary Mann, Raymond Mann, Brooklyn Davis, Della Manley, John Mann (Stacey), and Carol Fennell (Douglas); one sister, Bertha Lee Morris of White Plains, NY; two sisters-in-law, Lean Gary of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Alice Gary of Teaneck, NJ; one brother-in-law, Walter Adams of Greensboro, NC; numerous grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Murfreesboro in Murfreesboro, NC with Rev. Robert Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Community Cemetery at 1177 W. Gardner Road, Murfreesboro, NC.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wilder’s Funeral Home Chapel in Rich Square, NC who is handling the arrangements.
