Askew earns All-District and All-Region honors

MURFREESBORO – Conference Carolinas Player of the Year Daylan Askew has added two more prestigious honors to his collection for the 2024-25 season.
The Chowan University senior has earned a spot on both the D2CCA Southeast All-Region First Team and the Southeast All-District First Team, as selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
On December 14, Askew made history by becoming Chowan’s Division II all-time leading scorer during a game against Mount Olive, where he dropped 30 points.
During the 2024-25 season, Askew averaged 21.9 points per game, ranking among the top scorers in the conference, and also contributed 3.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.
With 1,701 career points, Askew holds the top spot in the Division II era and ranks third overall in program history. Over his four years with the Hawks, he has maintained an average of 15.8 points per game.
Recently Askew was honored as one of Chowan University’s Most Outstanding Students, a honor bestowed to the university’s top 30 junior and senior students each year. Other honors for 2024-25 include:
